Walking In Faversham Faversham Walks

I have lived in Faversham for a long time now and as such have commited my self of late to spending some time walking around with my recenly aqquired wife. We both enjoy walking and are pretty good at it for all intents. To that end i will be adding our walks to this page as we do them. Each walk will have a map courtesy of google earth (probably copyright of some sort) and a .gpx file from either a Garmin eTrex or MemoryMap on an XDA.

So take the GPX files and load them into google earth or your GPS gadget and get walking.

Grading

Grading for each walk are as follows:

  • Boots Only (much undergrowth, puddles and mud)
  • Your Choice (little undergrowth, puddles and mud)
  • Trainers Only (virtually all tarmac)

Starting in long grass leading to steep stony hills then through some lovely woodlands out into corn feilds. Where we took a wrong turn and had to double back on ourselves...Doh! This is a nice walk, half off road, half on country lanes... Not too demanding..

This can be treacherous in the summer with cows and sheep and the inevitable pats in every field. If you are afraid of either, dont even try it.

This one is pretty much all off road. On the day we went it rained heavily so the many burnt out cars spread across Nunnery Fields provided welcome respite from the rain. There are a couple of steep slopes on this walk that can be tricky when wet!

An almost circular walk acroos both roads and footpaths. So boots or trainers apply. Took us about 4 hours i think!

A very short walk that can get quite windy and cold depending on the weather. Worthy of a camera or binoculars if you are into bird watching!!!

Faversham Bird Watchers Walk (Short Creek)

Title: Faversham Creek Inside (2 Creeks Walk)
Length: 3.4 Miles
Grading: Your Choice

A relatively non challenging flat walk that can get a tad windy. Can be very muddy depending on the weather, caution advised on high tide. The sea can get frighteningly close to the top of the wall.
