Desktop Trebuchet Kit / Model
The desktop trebuchets kit / model is a fully functioning medievil artillery weapon. It's throwing arm measures 200mm. The base is 200mm long by 50mm wide by 100m high. With a 100 gram counter weight this trebuchet model can throw an air rifle pellet (about 1.5 grams) about 2 to 3 meters. A peanut is tossed about 5 meters and a dried pea goes into orbit!
Construction is of pine or balsa, we would reccomend those with little or no model building experience should first try the balsa wood version. Balsa is very soft and can easily be worked with kitchen knives and steel bradles.
Things you will need to build this kit:
- Some lead shot, fishing weights or pennies (for the counter weight).
- Sewing Pins.
- Electrical Tape.
- Thin string.
- Wood glue.
- Thin card.
This kit comprises of all the required lengths of wood, steel pins, release hooks, instructions and a template for the pouch.
